CHRISTOPHER CANCELLI
1983
Race prepared "Stock Class" Suzuki GS 750 which won it's class and placed 7th overall: W.E.R.A. sanctioned 24 hour race at the fastest road in the west, Willow Springs Race Way (Team Scorpion entry)
Not bad at all considering the first 4 bikes were factory support teams and open class entries.
1984
Developed performance exhaust system for Suzuki GSX-R series motorcycles which became and still is the standard of that industry for all Sport bikes brands being manufactured world wide. All original equipment and aftermarket sport bike exhaust systems bare his signature.
Adapte and developed Mikuni and Keihin carburetor induction for most all Triumph car models and 4 cylinder Alpha Romeo cars.
1985
Designed and developed twin turbo system with big bore piston and liner kit for De Lorean One, a De Lorean specialist company in Los Angeles, Ca.
1986
Restored Ferrari 275 GTB 4 which later that year sold at the Monterey Historic's for just under $800,000 "prior to Enzo's demise."
1995
Having Restored dozens of British and Italian cars by this time, what Chris enjoyed very much was his own 1980 Fiat 124 Spyder restoration. Bought cheap with a stuck rod bearing and a horrible white/blue factory trim combination he made it a prime candidate for a complete make over.
Chris almost completed the restoration in time for Denver's annual Italian car and motorcycle show. He entered it anyway despite missing the outer door handles and inner door panels. Out of the class of 28 combined Fiats and Lancias it was the crowd pleaser taking "Peoples Choice" missing parts and all.
2001
Built the cylinder head, complete exhaust system and tuned engine and chassis while suppling technical support for V.A.R.A. E production class championship winning Triumph GT6+.
This car had been campaigned for 9 straight previous years by it's owner who had been a mid-pack to top 10 finisher prior to Chris's work during the 2000 off season.
The car dominated throughout the 2001 season prompting a V.A.R.A. rule change for Triumph GT6's after taking the championship. V.A.R.A. advanced this car to the larger displacement D production class the following year where it finished third in points with no additional upgrades or changes.
